Praying for Israel

'The Lord said to Moses, “Tell Aaron and his sons, ‘This is how you are to bless the Israelites. Say to them: “ ‘ “The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace.” ’ “So they will put my name on the Israelites, and I will bless them.”'

(Numbers 6:22-27)

Father God, we (I) pray for Israel.

1. Father God!

June 2nd and 3rd were the Feast of Pentecost. This week’s Parashat Naso, in particular, is the longest Parasha in the Torah, “Birkat Kohanim.” A famous and influential blessing, the blessing of the priests, which Aaron HaKohen and his sons were commissioned by Moses to bless the Jewish people. All Kohanim (priests) pray and bless the Jewish people with this word on every holiday, but especially on Pentecost, they bless the people gathered at the Wailing Wall.

God the Father, Yeshua came to visit the disciples after His resurrection from the dead and before His ascension, “Do not leave Jerusalem, but wait for the gift the Father promised, which you heard from Me. For John baptized with water, but in a few days you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.” (Acts 1:4,5) But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Sarai, and to the ends of the earth.” (Acts 1:8) According to this word, the Lord gave the Holy Spirit to the 120 disciples who gathered on the day of Pentecost and prayed with all their hearts while waiting for the Holy Spirit. Thank you for establishing the Jerusalem church through the disciples who spread the gospel and for carrying out the mission to the Gentiles and the nations, which has led to today. God the Father, as Peter, who was filled with the Holy Spirit, proclaimed the word through the prophet Joel, “In the last days, says God, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams. And on my male and female servants in those days, I will pour out my Spirit, and they will prophesy. And I will show wonders in the heaven above, and signs on the earth below—blood and fire and smoke of smoke, a great and glorious sight of the Lord. Before the day comes, the sun will be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood. And everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” (Acts 2:17-21) Let both Jews and Gentiles look to the Lord, Jehovah God, who will fulfill the words He has proclaimed. Today, we give thanks and praise to God, the Father, who called us and brought about salvation. Now, let us become those who, like Ruth, help the Jews, restore Israel, and thoroughly prepare the way for the return of the Messiah Yeshua. Only through the work of the Holy Spirit can the church that preaches the gospel of the kingdom of heaven and the church of Israel, which has returned to the Messiah Yeshua, become one new person and prepare to welcome Yeshua, the King of the Jews and the King of kings. Please give the power of the Holy Spirit. May the Lord alone receive glory. Open the eyes of Israel to see Yeshua, the King of the Jews, the King of the great city of Jerusalem, and open their ears to hear the news of Yeshua, the Messiah who will come as the King of Peace. Please work the Holy Spirit to make Israel realize with their hearts. Baruch HaBa Beshem Adonai!

2. Father God!

In the Battle of Jabaliya in northern Gaza, three Israeli soldiers lost their lives. Please wipe away the tears of our comrades, family members, and friends who are fighting together, and comfort and strengthen them. Please protect the Israeli military who are eliminating the remnants of Hamas’ terrorist groups and terrorist infrastructure through ‘Operation Gideon’s Chariots’, and pray for the speedy return of all 58 hostages (20-23 likely to survive, 35 dead) remaining in the Gaza Strip. Please comfort and strengthen the families, friends, and relatives of the remaining hostages who are anxiously praying and waiting for the release of the hostages every day. Please hold the remaining hostages who are suffering under Hamas’ evil situation, give them the strength to endure to the end, and open the way for them to come out quickly. “Thus says the Lord: Even the captives of the mighty shall be taken, and the prey of the fearful shall be delivered: for I will contend with those who contend with you, and I will save your children” (Isaiah 49:25). Please save the hostages as the Word says. Please stand against Hamas, the enemy who started this evil, and save Israel completely. Please protect and guard the soldiers on the battlefield so that they may believe that the war belongs to the Lord, rely on the Lord God, and be strong and courageous in carrying out their missions. Please make the Israeli soldiers strong warriors of the Lord, and may they show forth and boast of the holiness of God.

# Father God, please eliminate the Houthi rebels in Yemen who attacked Israel last week, supported Hamas, and continued to fire missiles at Israel. “Let their eyes be darkened, so that they cannot see; let their loins tremble continually. Pour out your wrath upon them, and let your fierce anger overtake them. Let their dwellings be desolate, and let no one dwell in their tents.” (Psalm 69:23-25) According to this Word, please rule over the Houthis who are doing evil. In particular, please rule over the Houthis who continue to launch ballistic missiles, and expose and destroy Iran’s evil plans to attack and destroy Israel through Hezbollah, Hamas, and the Houthis. “He who digs a pit will fall into it, and he who rolls a stone will be crushed by it.” (Proverbs 26:27) Please expose and destroy all of Iran’s evil plans. Through this war of Israel, please let all the nations realize that God chose Israel first and is fulfilling what He wrote down today. Thank you!

Father God!

The British Christian Today reported that the number of people visiting churches across the UK has increased in recent weeks, following Easter last month. A ‘quiet revival’ is taking place in British society, with Bible sales increasing, church attendance recovering, and the attitudes of atheist political leaders changing. This change is happening not only within the Christian community but also in politics. Prime Minister Keir Starmer publicly paid tribute to Christians in his Easter message this year, according to the article. Knox of the Evangelical Alliance said, “This situation reminds me of the belief that God can bring about revival at unexpected moments. I have personally become more focused on prayer and evangelism,” and added, “The time of harvest may have come. The fruit may be riper than ever before. “The spread of the gospel is entirely God’s work, and we may be seeing the first fruits of this as a moment of full revival.” In particular, Generation Z is leading the increase in overall church attendance in the UK. The Bible Society recently published a report titled “The Quiet Revival” through a survey. It also reported that the number of church attendees has increased by more than 2 million compared to 6 years ago.

Father God, thank you for the revival in the church in the UK. Thank you for the good news of the increase in the number of young people seeking church and the rise in their interest in and engagement with the Bible. Through the work of the Holy Spirit in the Wales revival, I pray that the revival of the Holy Spirit, which has influenced many countries around the world through world missions and evangelism as a Christian nation, will occur in the UK. Especially the younger generation who seek the church, “Your people will offer themselves willingly in the day of your power, in holy attire; your young men will come to you like the dew of the morning.” (Psalm 110:3) “How can a young man keep his way pure? By keeping your word. With my whole heart, I seek you; do not let me stray from your commands. I have hidden your word in my heart, that I may not sin against you.” (Psalm 119:9-11) With these words, may you live a life that is distinct from the world, living a life that reads and learns the word of God, obeys the word, lives a life of the right word, and shines as a light in the world that reestablishes and brightens the darkening UK. Please help the churches and servants of the Lord in England to welcome the souls who come to the church with love and joy, and to help them live as children of God who have been born again and repent before the light of the gospel of life in Yeshua, and to serve them in the Holy Spirit. Please rekindle the flame of revival and missions that once burned brightly in England, and awaken the sleeping churches. Please especially protect the steps taken to spread the gospel on the streets, and continue to make history by sowing the seeds of the gospel that are being planted. Please help the doors of closed churches to open again, and for the people of England to repent, so that new changes may take place in the name of the Messiah Yeshua. We earnestly pray that the Holy Spirit will continue to work, so that revival may persist in all the churches in England.

In early May, the Washington State Department of Education and the Department of Justice (OSPI) pressured school districts in the state to allow boys to participate in girls’ sports and use girls-only spaces as part of an investigation into Washington state’s gender policies. They said that schools that were forced to withhold gender identity information from parents violated Title IX, the Student Rights Protection Act, and the Family Education Rights Act. In particular, the Washington State Department of Education accused La Center of instilling “gender ideology” in the classroom, with teachers not asking students for their gender pronouns (he, she, they) but instead following their biological sex. Democratic-controlled states such as Washington, Maine, and California still prioritize gender identity and allow transgender students to participate in sports.

Father God, we thank you for the federal Department of Education and the Department of Justice for changing the gender identity policies that have dominated the United States for the past several years to a biblical and common-sense form. Title IX of the Education Act, passed in 1972, requires all schools receiving federal funds not to discriminate “based on sex” so that boys and girls can be educated equally. The Biden administration has expanded the definition of “sex” to include “gender identity,” allowing transgender students to use bathrooms, locker rooms, and participate in sports according to their gender identity. This executive order rescinds the executive order and regulation related to Title IX that the Trump administration had applied. We appreciate that the interpretation of “sex” as biological sex only, and that schools that force parents to hide information related to a student’s gender identity, are a violation of the fundamental rights of the family. "People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, slanderers, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy" (2 Timothy 3:2). Please work so that intercessors and churches will arise to pray that unbiblical policies and education will be corrected. Christian education and culture will be restored, as this verse says. Please work through the Holy Spirit so that parents' prayers for their children will not cease, primarily so that America, a country founded on Christian principles, will be adequately educated with biblical values and informed by biblical policies.

Father God!

The U.S. House of Representatives passed the Big Beautiful Bill Act on May 22, which provides nearly $800 million in government assistance each year. The bill includes a measure to block federal funding from Planned Parenthood, which performed over 400,000 abortions, for the 2023-2024 fiscal year. The Big Beautiful Bill prohibits non profit organizations that provide abortions from using Social Security funds, including Medicaid, for the next 10 years. Brent Leatherwood, President of the Southern Baptist Convention’s Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission, called the passage “a significant step toward a culture of respect for life” and a correction of “a problem of American morality and identity.”

Father God, we thank the House for its decision to block funding for organizations that perform, promote, and educate about abortion. We pray that the bill will continue to pass the Senate and be signed by the President. Please let the bill pass in its entirety so that lives are protected and America’s morality is restored. ‘Therefore pray this way: Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.’ (Matthew 6:9-10) We thank God for allowing His will to be fulfilled, as He loves life and values ​​even the fetus as life, as He says in this verse. Please especially teach and inform in sex education materials and public health materials in schools that life begins at conception. Please let our children learn from a young age that the life of a young fetus is a precious fruit that belongs to the Lord, and cherish and protect it. Please let the country establish and implement the right policies so that our next generation is educated in the Word of God and grows up to be people who fear God and love their neighbors.

Praying for South Korea

'For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord , “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. '

(Jeremiah 29:11-13)

Father God, I (we) pray for South Korea.

Father God!

People Power Party presidential candidate Kim Moon-soo acknowledged his defeat in the 21st presidential election and announced a concession message. At 1:36 AM on the 4th, when the victory of Democratic Party candidate Lee Jae-myung was confirmed, candidate Kim said at the People Power Party headquarters in Yeouido, "I will humbly accept the people's choice," and "I congratulate candidate Lee Jae-myung on his election."

Father God, all authority in heaven and on earth belongs to you, and I praise you for being the master of history. Ultimately, we saw President Lee Jae-myung elected as the 21st president. "Everyone is subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except from God, and God has established those authorities that exist" (Romans 13:1). Whether we want it or not, we stand here confessing that God permits all authority and that it is a result of God's will. This election was held amidst suspicions of election fraud and deep distrust that were difficult for the majority of the people to accept. This election, held amid political chaos, social conflict, martial law, and impeachment, left more confusion and disappointment than acceptance, and many people still struggle to accept today's results. In the meantime, People Power Party candidate Kim Moon-soo fought with all his might against candidate Lee Jae-myung. However, he received this result and extended his congratulations to the elected candidate, believing it to be the people's choice. In the face of this reality, we beg you to have mercy on us. We believe that God never makes mistakes. Although believers each sought God's will and prayed earnestly for the election, we think that this result was God's will. At this time, we come together and pray that the elected president will not deceive the people with arrogance. Also, we pray that God will rule over me so that I do not go down the path of tyranny like a dictator by persecuting those who oppose me or speak the truth, or by using the law as I please when I speak out as a citizen of a free democratic country. Please guide me through my steps so that I can walk the path of a true leader who respects the freedom and human rights of all people. “Righteousness and justice are the foundation of your throne; lovingkindness and truth go before you.” (Psalm 89:14)

Father God, please grant me the grace that this country may no longer collapse due to conflict and division, but instead be rebuilt on the foundation of truth, justice, and a transparent legal order. “When the righteous are many, the people rejoice; when the wicked are in power, the people groan.” (Prov. 29:2)

Father God, the people of this land are now engulfed in deep worry and confusion. Since the president-elect shares the same views as those with pro-North Korea ideology and does not hesitate to engage in political collusion, treasonous behavior, and words and actions that heighten anti-American sentiment, many citizens are very concerned that the security and diplomacy of the Republic of Korea, the honor of the nation, and the future vision will be shaken. Additionally, despite the numerous criminal charges that have already been revealed, the citizens hold a negative view. They are frustrated about the possibility that he will resort to political tricks to conceal and evade his crimes. But Lord, even amid all this chaos and anxiety, I believe that God still loves this country and that His providence is to use these people. We genuinely think that this is the time to awaken the Korean church. Please awaken those who need to awaken even more, repent with their hearts torn by the reality they face, and cry out in prayer even louder. Please grant us the authority to fulfill the mission of spiritual guards who refuse to compromise with the forces opposing the truth and shout for justice and truth. “First of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings should be made for all people, for kings and those in authority.” (1 Timothy 2:12) We hold on to the Word of God and pray earnestly for the president-elect. Please grant us the wisdom to transcend our selfish desires and partisan interests and to engage in politics that embraces the entire nation. Please help us face the suffering of the people, practice a politics of integration, and intervene so that we do not undermine the roots of diplomacy, security, the economy, and liberal democracy. “Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, the people chosen for his inheritance” (Psalm 33:12). Let us pray again, relying on the word. Please bestow great grace on the churches and believers of the Republic of Korea who stand before this heavy reality in these last days. Please establish us as a nation that unwaveringly takes the Lord as its God, and as a people chosen for God’s inheritance, please pour out abundant blessings so that we can stand firm as a priestly nation that does not stop taking steps toward the gospel toward the nations, armed only with the word of truth and the power of the Holy Spirit, and fulfill our missionary mission without stopping.
