Prayer for the Restoration of Israel and Nations      

'All you Israelites, trust in the Lord — he is their help and shield. House of Aaron, trust in the You who fear him, trust in the '

Father God, we (I) pray for Israel.

1. Father God!

On August 19, the 683rd day of the war, Hamas accepted a new proposal from Arab mediators for a 60-day ceasefire in Gaza. They offered to release 10 of the remaining 50 hostages and return the bodies of 17 dead hostages in exchange for the release of numerous Palestinian Hamas prisoners. The Israeli government's approval of an escalation offensive, along with plans to retake Gaza City and other densely populated areas, following the collapse of ceasefire negotiations last month, sparked international outrage. Furthermore, many Israelis, concerned about the safety of the remaining hostages, staged mass protests on the 17th, demanding their return. Hamas has been negotiating with temporary ceasefires for nearly two years, releasing a few hostages at a time. Their attempts to negotiate while still holding some hostages are an attempt to divide Israel. Israel also denounced this as cynical manipulation, insisting that the negotiations must include the immediate release of all remaining hostages. Prime Minister Netanyahu said, "Reports that Hamas has accepted the offer show that Hamas is 'under tremendous pressure.'" Furthermore, US President Trump, skeptical of long-term US-brokered negotiations, posted on Truth Social, "Only when Hamas is attacked and destroyed will we see the remaining hostages return!!! The sooner it happens, the better the chances of success."

Father God, Hamas is offering to release many Hamas prisoners in exchange for the release of only a portion of its prisoners, using 50 hostages, even though they have agreed to a 60-day ceasefire. A senior Israeli official told the Post, "Operational planning continues as usual, and we will implement the cabinet's decision to occupy Gaza City unless a framework is presented that releases all hostages and ends the war on the terms outlined by Prime Minister Netanyahu." We pray for the release of all 50 hostages remaining in Gaza, as Israel has proposed. “Thus says the Lord: ‘You will take captive the mighty, and rescue the prey of the fearful. For I will contend with those who contend with you, and I will save your children.’” (Isaiah 49:25) According to this Word, please rescue all the hostages and quickly eliminate Hamas, the enemy of Israel, who commits such evil deeds. Protect the Israeli soldiers who are at war with Hamas terrorist groups in the Gaza Strip, give them strong and courageous faith, and help them become mighty warriors of God who rely solely on the mighty God in battle. Please completely save Israel. “I lift my eyes to the hills—where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth. The Lord will not let your foot slip; he who keeps you will not slumber. He who keeps Israel will neither slumber nor sleep.” (Psalm 121:1-4) May the people of Israel, who pray and sing with these words, not be divided, but may the Israeli government, the Israeli army, and the people trust in the God who protects and helps Israel and move forward with one heart. May they remember only the Word of God, bow humbly before the Word, and look only to the God who unites and brings good.

2. Father God!

Please govern the evil of Hamas, which continues to intercept relief supplies for the Gazans and use them as human shields, as well as the international broadcasters who distort the news and misrepresent this, and the UN, which fails to deliver relief supplies directly to the Gazans and cooperates in their distribution. We also believe that You will govern the pressure and threats against Israel from France, Saudi Arabia, the United Kingdom, Canada, and Germany, who are dividing the land of Israel and submitting a two-state proposal to the UN, according to Your word. “Behold, in those days, when I restore the captivity of Judah and Jerusalem, I will gather all nations and bring them down to the Valley of Jehoshaphat. I will enter into judgment with them there on behalf of My people and My inheritance, Israel, because they have scattered Israel among the nations and divided My land among them.” (Joel 3:1-2) We pray that the Lord will act according to His word, which says there will be a time when He will judge the nations that divide the land of Israel. The nations are trying to divide this land with a two-state solution, but Genesis 15:18 says, "On that day the Lord made a covenant with Abram, saying, 'To your descendants I give this land, from the river of Egypt to the great river, the river Euphrates.'" "I will establish my covenant as an everlasting covenant between me and you and your descendants after you throughout their generations, to be your God and your descendants after you. I will give you and your descendants after you the land of your sojournings, all the land of Canaan, as an everlasting possession; and I will be their God." (Genesis 17:7-8) According to these words, God's everlasting covenant remains unchanging, and I believe He will fulfill His promises regarding this land through Israel. God will govern the foolish attempt to divide His Promised Land, and we declare He will carry out His word in His sovereignty. We praise the name of Jehovah God the Father. Please bless the United States, which blesses Israel at this time. Jehovah God is saving and blessing Israel even through this war, and we pray for Israel. "Comfort, comfort my people, says your God" (Isaiah 40:1). According to this verse, may Christians of all nations who believe in Yeshua first obey the word of the Lord God, who commands them to comfort Israel, the firstborn nation. May we become churches and believers in other nations who genuinely love and comfort God's people who are suffering from this painful war and terrorism.

Father God, I (we) pray for Indonesia. 

1. Father God!

On August 15th, US President Trump met with Russian President Putin at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson in Anchorage, Alaska, to discuss ending the war in Ukraine. On August 18th, President Zelensky visited Washington. The leaders of Germany, the UK, France, Italy, Finland, the European Union, and NATO Secretary General Rutte accompanied him. President Trump resumed phone talks with Russian President Putin during a Washington meeting with European leaders, including Ukrainian President Zelensky. President Trump announced that he would hold a trilateral meeting with Presidents Putin and Zelensky at a location to be determined. The discussion would focus specifically on Article 5-type security guarantees for Ukraine, not NATO membership. President Zelensky stated that the security guarantee issue for Kyiv would likely be resolved within 10 days and that territorial issues related to a potential peace agreement between Ukraine and Russia would also be discussed.

Heavenly Father, it is said that the first meeting between President Putin and President Zelensky, mediated by President Trump, will be held within the next two weeks. We pray that this meeting will bring an end to the war between Russia and Ukraine, which has been ongoing for over three years. We especially pray that Ukraine, suffering from the hardships of war, will find peace and stability. We pray that this meeting will bring about the day when the many Ukrainians who fled the war and are now living as refugees in various European countries can return to their homeland and live in stability. Please help us end the war by declaring an end to it, establishing a peace agreement, and ending the war through this meeting with President Trump. “The highway of the upright is to turn away from evil; he who keeps his way preserves his soul. Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall” (Proverbs 16:17-18). We pray that the two presidents of Ukraine and Russia will turn from the evil of war and become humble people who care for their suffering people, ending the war and restoring and proclaiming peace in their lands. Comfort those families who have lost their loved ones, especially their children, to the war, and comfort the many wounded soldiers. We especially pray for the healing and recovery of those wounded in the war. May the news of war in this land awaken believers to prayer, seeking God's kingdom, and preparing the nations for the coming of Yeshua, the Prince of Peace.

2. Father God!

#On the weekend of August 16th, flash floods in Pakistan killed 277 people. More than 150 people are still missing in the Buner district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, and at least 645 people have died nationwide due to higher-than-normal monsoon rainfall this summer.

# As massive wildfires in Spain recently spread to unprecedented scale, 1,400 military personnel, plus 500 others, have been deployed to fight them. So far, dozens of simultaneous wildfires have broken out in Spain, burning over 110,000 hectares of forest (twice the size of Seoul). Western Spain has been particularly hard hit, with three deaths, including firefighters and civilians, killed while battling the fires.

# Eight wildfires have spread over the past three days in Portugal, primarily in central and northern areas. This year, 145,000 hectares of forests in Portugal have been damaged, and with the current heatwave expected to continue in the region, firefighting will be difficult for the time being.

Father God, as summer passes, news of floods and typhoons has spread worldwide. Many people have lost their lives and gone missing, especially in Pakistan. Please comfort and show mercy to the Pakistani people who have lost their families, homes, and are grieving and struggling due to these natural disasters. In Europe, we are also hearing reports of disasters caused by fires amidst the scorching heat. “You have shown us sore troubles, but you will revive us and bring us up again from the depths of the earth” (Psalm 71:20). As we hear and see news of these climate change disasters, “When will these things happen? And what will be the sign of your coming and the end of the age?” Jesus told his disciples, “You will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See to it that you are not alarmed. All this must happen, but the end is not yet. Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places. All these are but the beginning of sorrows.” (Matthew 24:6-8) Please help us, Holy Spirit, to remember the Lord’s words again and realize that the disasters have already begun, so that we may live with faith and prepare for them. May we stay awake and pray for God’s kingdom and righteousness. Please fill us with the Holy Spirit so that all Christians on this earth may live a life of faith, vigilantly praying, and longing for the Lord’s coming without fearing the tribulation and suffering that will come in the last days. May you fill us with the Holy Spirit so we may live as saints who await the Lord’s coming.

Father God, I (we) pray for the US.

1. Father God!

The documentary Generation Revival will premiere on August 27th. It captures the spiritual revival among Generation Z. This film, produced by CBN, captures the moving story of young people finding hope, purpose, and identity in Jesus amidst a chaotic culture. The scenes of repentance and salvation happening across college campuses, with countless students accepting Jesus as their Savior and being baptized in lakes, fountains, and football stadiums, are reminiscent of the Azusa Street revival of the early 1900s. "It makes me feel like we are on the threshold of an incredible revival God has granted to America." 

The confessional prayer of Tana Prewett, a mother who shared her daughter's deep pain with her Heavenly Father, launched the student-led revival movement called UniteUS. Starting with a prayer meeting of thousands at Auburn University in September 2023, it has since spread to Ohio State University, Florida State University, and more. We are grateful for what is happening at many universities, including Alabama, Georgia, and Arkansas, WVU, the University of Kentucky, Ohio State, SMU, Purdue, the University of Tennessee, Texas A&M, the University of South Carolina, the University of Florida, and Mississippi State. We thank You for allowing a spiritual revival among America's youth. "Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me" (Psalm 51:10). This documentary goes beyond simply telling the story of young people's transformation. It demonstrates God's renewed work through the younger generation, and we thank You for revealing the importance of prayer, repentance, and communal commitment that the modern church must restore. Above all, may You help us realize that Generation Z is not a "lost generation" but a "generation rising again with hope and faith." May You help us know that true revival will occur when the church goes beyond mere gatherings and becomes a place where the Gospel is practiced. We pray that the American church will join the wave of revival God is working through this younger generation, respond sensitively to God's heart for this generation, pray together, participate in the revival, and create a new work of the Holy Spirit that is renewing America.

Father God, I (we) pray for South Korea.

1. Father God!

The National Coalition for Fetal and Fetal Protection (hereafter, the National Coalition), comprised of 69 organizations, released a statement on the 19th condemning Democratic Party lawmaker Seo Mi-hwa. They criticized Rep. Seo's recent remarks during a meeting with religious leaders at the National Assembly, stating, "I participated in proposing a revision to the Maternal and Child Health Act that would allow full-term abortions to prevent discrimination against people with disabilities," as "a sophistry that advocates for the rights of people with disabilities while ignoring the life of the fetus." God the Father, we believe and thank You for creating the fetus with life and personality in Your image. We praise the Lord, who said, "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I set you apart" (Jeremiah 1:5). However, Rep. Seo Mi-hwa claims, "The current law, which restricts abortion to 24 weeks only for people with disabilities, is discriminatory." She is treating fetal life carelessly, attempting to take the lives of the most vulnerable through laws and institutions. Open the eyes of leaders who rationalize abortion and confuse the nation with the distorted claim that abortion is permissible up to term. Remember your command, “Do not shed innocent blood” (Deuteronomy 19:10), and repeal the evil laws that dismember or drug the fetus. Strongly rebuke the contradictory claims that, while claiming to “eliminate discrimination against the disabled,” actually ignore the fetus’s right to life. All fetuses, regardless of whether disabled or healthy, or how many weeks pregnant, are precious lives of God. “Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb a reward” (Psalm 127:3). Following your word, Wordour society restores the values of respect and protection of children and life as heritage.

Father God, we pray that the church will not remain silent in the face of these unjust laws, but will fulfill its mission as a watchman protecting the lives of the fetus. May pastors and believers not remain silent in the face of unjust political speech, may they not compromise by scrutinizing the world, but may they proclaim God's Word with their voices. As the Word's Word "Speak, for their blood I will require at your hand" (Ezekiel 33:8), may you sustain us with the power of the Holy Spirit so that we never remain silent. May the legislators and leaders of this land fear God and grant them grace to establish laws and systems that protect the lives of the most vulnerable fetuses. May you recognize that God's created order and the fetus's right to life take precedence over a woman's right to self-determination. In these last days, may the Korean church raise the next generation with faith, grounded in the value of respect for life, and lead the way in good works that cherish the Gospel and life. We earnestly pray that all fetuses in this land will be safely protected, born at God's appointed time, and grow into healthy generations that glorify God.

2. Father God!

The Korean Church Press Association (President: Rev. David Lim) released a statement on the 19th titled, "The President's Human Rights are the Dignity of a Nation." This statement was in response to news reports that correctional authorities handcuffed and electronically monitored former President Yoon Seok-yeol as he was taken out for an eye examination. The Church Press Association stated, "Everyone has human rights. What are they hoping to gain by doing this to a former president?" "Even if they had captured an enemy general, they wouldn't have treated him this way. Aren't all these witnessed by the citizens and their children growing up?" He noted, "The first thoughts that came to the public's mind were probably, 'Oh, that's political revenge,' and 'They're trying to show how fearsome those in power are by humiliating and embarrassing the former president.'" "Many citizens must have felt shame and anger, as if handcuffed and electronically monitored."

Father God, we confess that You rule over the nations, and that all authority and power come from You. "But He has made man rule over man, so that people may know that the Most High is sovereign over the kingdoms of men and gives them to whom He will, and He sets over them the lowliest of men" (Daniel 4:17). Please help those in power in this country realize that God has temporarily entrusted them with power. Have mercy on the Republic of Korea, which is now facing a crisis of retaliatory politics and the erosion of human rights. The humiliating treatment of a former president, coupled with the practice of handcuffing and electronic anklets for differing political views, left the nation deeply wounded and angered. Many citizens felt a mixture of shame and anger, as if they were handcuffed and electronic anklets attached to their bodies. On Liberation Day, on the 16th, the largest crowd ever recorded, 13.2 million people, gathered in various parts of Seoul, demanding the release of former President Yoon. Some even chanted for the regime's resignation. “How long will you render unjust judgment and show partiality to the wicked?” (Psalm 82:2) May the leaders of this land hear God’s word. May the vicious cycle of political retaliation that undermines human rights be broken, and may justice and righteousness flow like a river in our nation. Father God, help us remember that power is never eternal. “The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God stands forever” (Isaiah 40:8). May those in power not be arrogant, as if they will endure forever, nor may they lord it over the people. Currently, South Korea is divided between my and your sides, and the nation continues to face dire straits. Please intervene directly in this situation. May those in power come to their senses, free from the vain dream that their power will endure forever. May the tragedies caused by the abuse of power never be repeated. We earnestly pray that this country and these people will stand firmly in Your will alone, and that freedom, human rights, justice, and peace will be firmly established in Your Word.
