Prayer for the Restoration of Israel and Nations 'Just as you, Judah and Israel, have been a curse among the nations, so I will save you, and you will be a blessing. Do not be afraid, but let your hands be strong.” ' (Zechariah 8:13) Father God, we (I) pray for Israel.
On August 7th, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu held a press conference following the Security Cabinet's decision to expand operations in the Gaza Strip. The plan for Gaza included Israel maintaining primary security responsibility and establishing a civilian administration. The Gaza Strip would be demilitarized, and a security zone would be established along Israel's borders. In a phone call that day, Prime Minister Netanyahu and President Trump discussed Israel's plan to seize remaining Hamas strongholds in Gaza, free the remaining hostages, defeat Hamas, and end the war. “I lift my eyes to the hills—where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth. The Lord will not let your foot slip; he who keeps you will not slumber. He who keeps Israel will neither slumber nor sleep.” (Psalm 121:1-4) May Prime Minister Netanyahu, his cabinet, the Israeli army, and the people trust in God, who protects and helps Israel, and move forward with one heart. “Thus says the Lord, your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel: ‘I am the Lord your God, who teaches you what is good for you, who leads you in the way you should go.’” (Isaiah 48:17) According to these words, may our government leaders remember God’s word even more in times of war, bow down humbly before His word, and look only to Him who works together for good.
On August 10, Prime Minister Netanyahu spoke out against countries that have ignored the truth about Hamas' distorted war reports and images of starving children, and instead have been vocal in their anti-Semitism, further criticizing Israel for its expanded operations and planned takeover of the Gaza Strip. Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu stated that, contrary to media "false claims," the Israeli government has granted over 200 million tons of aid to combat the humanitarian crisis in the war zone, and that the humanitarian situation in Gaza stems from the UN's lack of commitment to providing humanitarian assistance on the Gaza side of the border. Netanyahu condemned the international media, accusing them of slandering Jews and the Jewish state, saying, "This is similar to how Jews were slandered in the Middle Ages and during the Holocaust."
Father God, please govern the evil of Hamas, which intercepts aid from Gazans and uses them as human shields against Israel, and the international broadcasters who distort the truth and report on this. At this time, France, Saudi Arabia, the United Kingdom, Canada, and Germany are supporting the establishment of a Palestinian state and threatening to discuss the two-state plan at the United Nations. “Behold, in those days, and at that time, when I restore the captivity of Judah and Jerusalem, I will gather all nations and bring them down to the Valley of Jehoshaphat. I will enter into judgment with them there on behalf of my people and my inheritance, Israel, because they have scattered them among the nations and divided my land.” (Joel 3:1-2) We pray that the Lord will act according to His written Word, which states that He will judge the nations that divide the land of Israel at a specific time. The nations are trying to divide this land with a two-state solution, but Genesis 15:18 says, "On that day the Lord made a covenant with Abram, saying, 'To your descendants I give this land, from the river of Egypt to the great river, the river Euphrates.'" "I will establish my covenant as an everlasting covenant between me and you and your descendants after you throughout their generations, to be your God and your descendants after you. I will give to you and your descendants after you the land of your sojournings, all the land of Canaan, as an everlasting possession; and I will be their God." (Genesis 17:7-8) According to these words, God's everlasting covenant remains unchanging, and I believe He will fulfill His word regarding this land through Israel. We declare that God will govern the foolish attempt to divide His Promised Land and fulfill His word in His sovereignty. I praise the name of the Lord God the Father. At this time, please bless the United States, which blesses Israel. Although Israel is currently at war, we believe that Jehovah God is saving Israel and blessing her through this war, and we pray and bless Israel.
We pray that you will protect the Israeli soldiers who are at war with Hamas terrorists in the Gaza Strip, and that all 50 hostages remaining in Gaza will return quickly. Please comfort and strengthen the families, friends, and relatives of the remaining hostages who spend each day anxiously and pleading for their release. Please hold the remaining hostages who are suffering under Hamas's evil, give them the strength to endure to the end, and open the way for their swift release. "Thus says the Lord: Even the captives of the mighty will be taken, and the prey of the fearful will be rescued. For I will contend with those who contend with you, and I will save your children." (Isaiah 49:25) According to this word, please rescue the hostages, quickly eliminate Hamas, Israel's adversary, who is perpetrating this evil, and completely save Israel.
'May God be gracious to us and bless us and make his face shine on us— so that your ways may be known on earth, your salvation among all nations. May the peoples praise you, God; may all the peoples praise you. ' (Psalms 67:1-3) Father God, I (we) pray for Indonesia.
On August 11, Hindu nationalist groups in Kanker district, Chhattisgarh, India, pressured the Christian community, leading to the conversion of 18 families to Christianity in the two villages of Kudal and Jhunwani in recent years. Five of these families returned to Hinduism due to community pressure. In response, the villages held a meeting and banned Christian pastors, priests, and so-called "conversion activists" from entering their premises. On August 5, following the arrest and bail of two Catholic nuns on charges of forced conversion and human trafficking, the group shut down all local shops during protests led by the Sanatan Samaj. They submitted an 11-point demand to the government, arguing that Christian missionaries are luring people to convert by offering educational, medical, and economic assistance. According to a report by the Evangelical Alliance of India's Religious Liberty Commission, 86 incidents of Christian persecution occurred in Chhattisgarh alone between January and July of this year. On July 20th, in Bhilai district, six pastors were detained and beaten in jail after disrupting a worship service. Father God, in Chhattisgarh, India, pastors and believers are suffering not only personal hardship but also profound hardship due to the persecution of Christians. The Deputy Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh announced plans to strengthen the Chhattisgarh Freedom of Religion Act of 1968 after 52 meetings as of the 3rd. Still, Christian missionary groups and churches continue to face significant attacks in villages. India's judicial system fails to protect religious minorities. Many victims remain faithful to their faith, fearing retaliation and unable to report their crimes. Meanwhile, new Christians are facing widespread persecution, violence, and oppression that threaten their very identity and existence, leading some to abandon their faith. In recent years, under the Hindu nationalist regime, hostility toward Christian minorities has spread through law and public opinion, and persecution of Christians has increased sharply year after year. Please protect and defend the churches and believers in Chhattisgarh, who are under particular attack and suffering. "I want to hear this, that you are not frightened in any way by your opponents. This is a proof to them of destruction, but to you of salvation, which is from God." (Philippians 1:28) According to this verse, believing that these tribulations, persecutions, and difficulties are evidence of the salvation of faith in God, may the churches and believers in India, especially those in Chhattisgarh, be victorious with bold faith in salvation. Cover them with the power of the Holy Spirit. May the Lord not only protect them, but also work through them for greater evangelism and revival.
Pakistan's National Commission on the Rights of the Child (NCRC) released a report titled "Analysis of the Situation of Children of Religious Minorities in Pakistan." It highlighted the forced conversion, child marriage, and child labor faced by children from marginalized Christian and Hindu communities and other minority groups, urging the government to take urgent action to address discrimination stemming from institutional bias, social exclusion, and institutional neglect. "Systemic discrimination means that minority children face discrimination from their peers and teachers in school. They are often exposed to curricula that reinforce negative stereotypes about their religion, resulting in isolation, subpar academic performance, and frequent dropouts." In particular, victims of "forced religious conversion and forced marriage," where young Christian and Hindu girls are forced to marry older Muslim men, have few legal recourse. "Due to institutional bias, societal pressures, and the inadequate role of law enforcement, these practices persist despite legal protections," it stated. Heavenly Father, the victims of child abductions, murders, forced conversions, and child marriages, among other oppressions against minority children, are predominantly Christians. The Single National Curriculum mandates mandatory Islamic religious education, which infringes on religious freedom, and minority students suffer poor grades and marginalization. When their religion or caste is revealed, they face discrimination and ridicule from classmates and some teachers, as well as attempts to convert. We thank the National Commission on the Rights of the Child for its call for concrete measures to strengthen legal protections, expand the social safety net, establish inclusive education policies, eradicate child and enslaved person labor, and prevent forced religious conversions. Please work to ensure that all children, including children from minority groups, have the right to dignity, safety, and fair opportunities in life, regardless of their religion or background. Please help us establish policies that specifically protect the church through religious freedom and protect children of faith from educational barriers, forced conversions, child labor, and discrimination in public services. The churches and believers in Pakistan, “You, little children, are from God and have overcome them, because greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world” (1 John 4:4) With these words, we pray that the Holy Spirit will help and protect us as children of God, so that we may overcome the world in the name of Yeshua, who is greater than the world, and win the good fight of faith.
'But my eyes are fixed on you, Sovereign Lord ; in you I take refuge—do not give me over to death. Keep me safe from the traps set by evildoers, from the snares they have laid for me. ' (Psalms 141:8-9) Father God, I (we) pray for the US.
Raymond Sullivan, a sophomore on the Wagner College men's fencing team in New York, competed on the women's team at the Maryland Cherry Blossom Open fencing tournament after receiving medical clearance in the fall of 2024. Stephanie Turner, in response, refused to compete with Redmond Sullivan, a male fencer competing in the women's division. She declared, "This is a women's event, and I will not compete with men," and was black-carded and ejected. Following this, the U.S. Department of Education's Office for Civil Rights (OCR) conducted a Title IX gender discrimination investigation. On August 1st, it reached a settlement with Wagner College, restricting participation in gender-segregated sports to athletes of the appropriate gender. The college agreed to ban men from competing in women's sports and facilities, rescind related guidelines, and apologize to female athletes harmed by the past policy. Father God, thank you for preventing the federal Department of Education from barring men from participating in women's and girls' sports. Amidst recent discussions about transgender athletes in women's sports, the use of women's restrooms, and men being incarcerated alongside women, please work to resolve the "transgender issue fully." In particular, please ensure that the Trump administration's executive order defining gender categories as clearly male and female is fully implemented. Please work to fully implement additional executive orders and measures restricting federal access to gender reassignment procedures and surgeries for minors, ending support for federal education policies that promote transgenderism, and addressing transgender individuals' eligibility for military service. Please work to promptly resolve lawsuits filed by LGBTQ+ groups in this matter so that the current administration's policies can be fully implemented. "So God created man in his image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them" (Genesis 1:27). We pray that this Word will be restored in the United States. We pray that the National Assembly will quickly enact legislation to maintain the sound policies of the current administration's new executive orders, particularly so that the previous flawed, unbiblical policies will be eliminated and biblical values restored. Please give the members of the National Assembly a heart of reverence for God and work to make them a legislative body that implements sound policies.
On August 10th, the New York Times reported that with the legalization and commercialization of marijuana spreading across the United States, cannabis-infused foods have become more readily available. Last year, there were over 22,000 cases of cannabis exposure, with parents and children suffering life-threatening injuries after mistaking cannabis gum, gummies, cake pops, or cookies for regular snacks. More than 75% of the poisoning cases reported to the National Poison Center involved children or adolescents, the Times reported. Amidst active policies and efforts to prevent the influx of marijuana and cocaine into the United States, the U.S. Coast Guard seized over 240,000 pounds of cocaine in Florida on July 26th. This amount was said to be enough to kill the populations of California, Texas, and New York.
Father God, we thank you for the cooperation between the government, the Coast Guard, and the Department of Homeland Security in arresting and confiscating illegal drugs that are entering American society and taking innocent lives. As the Trump administration declared war on drugs and illicit substances and strengthened security along our land borders, we are grateful for the Coast Guard's efforts to combat the increase in drug smuggling by sea. In this war on drugs that is destroying the American people and youth, let us especially pray for churches and parents to protect and guard our children, and for sound education to be provided. “The King will answer them, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these my brothers and sisters, you did for me.’” (Matthew 25:40) We pray for a return to biblical policies in the United States and sound education so that the next generation can learn and grow in sound values. Please bless us to be victorious in the spiritual war, to become a godly nation and a positive influence on the spread of the Gospel to the nations, and to fulfill Your will. We pray that God will grant grace to all American political leaders, educators, and families to unite in the Word of God and to follow the right path, and that the work of turning back to the Word of God will continue to unfold.
'God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.' (2 Corinthians 5:21) Father God, I (we) pray for South Korea.
The Butterfly Action for Shalom (Permanent Representative Dr. Kim Young-han, hereinafter Shalom Butterfly) emphasized in a commentary commemorating the 80th anniversary of liberation on the 11th, "The path South Korea must take in the 21st century is a maritime-oriented nation, built on a ROK-US alliance free from Chinese and Russian influence, and advancing alongside the free nation of Japan." They also expressed concern about President Lee Jae-myung's decision to hold the upcoming Liberation Day event as a "national inauguration ceremony." In response, Shalom Butterfly stated, "The political, military, and security landscape surrounding the Korean Peninsula remains turbulent, as it was 80 years ago, amidst a relentless competition among world powers. Due to unresolved past issues and differing perceptions of history, ideological conflict and emotional confrontation continue to drive our society into division and chaos." Father God, on this 80th anniversary of liberation, we offer thanks, praise, and glory for Your grace, which has granted freedom and independence to this land. God, out of His love for our country, liberated us from Japanese oppression 80 years ago. Again, we thank you for granting us independence, intending to use us as a priestly nation to establish God's kingdom in the last days, and blessing us to establish a free and democratic nation through President Syngman Rhee. However, the Republic of Korea faces greater political, military, security, and domestic turmoil than ever. Please have mercy on us. Differences in people's historical perceptions have led to ideological conflict and emotional confrontation, causing great division and confusion among politicians and the people. "For God is not a God of disorder but of peace" (1 Corinthians 14:33). As this verse says, may the God of order bring peace and truth among our people, and may He drive away the evil spirits that are shaking the Republic of Korea with extreme chaos, lies, slander, and division. We confess that the founding of the Republic of Korea was the fruit of countless believers' tears and fervent prayers. This nation was established through the Father's meticulous intervention from liberation to its founding. "Not by might, nor by power, but by My Spirit," says the Lord Almighty. (Zechariah 4:6) As this verse says, we firmly believe that our nation was founded not by human power but by the Spirit of God. The Holy Spirit initiated the Constitutional Assembly in 1948 through prayer. Even though Christians comprised less than 1% of Koreans at the time, they were not ashamed of their faith; they publicly gave thanks to God and laid the foundation for a nation. Now, may those who believe in Yeshua rise again in the Republic of Korea and emulate the faith of our ancestors. “If my people, who are called by my name, humble themselves and pray and seek my face, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and heal their land” (2 Chronicles 7:14). As we mark the 80th anniversary of liberation, just as previous Christian leaders maintained their faith amidst hardship and established the nation, before believers rise and demand political and social change, may the grace of those who believe in Yeshua be restored to humble themselves, pray, and seek your face first. We earnestly pray that you grant us the blessing to stand in truth, restore holiness, and firmly establish and advance the free Republic of Korea.
On August 11th, civic groups, including the Korea Youth Solidarity for Participatory Democracy, released a statement urging the selection of a proper sex education institution that meets parents' expectations regarding the operator of the Seoul Metropolitan Youth Sexual Culture Center. Regarding the Seoul Metropolitan Government's scheduled selection of the operator of the "Aha Seoul Metropolitan Youth Sexual Culture Center" on August 14th, the groups stated, "The Sexual Culture Center has been teaching distorted sexual ethics to youth, which has hurt parents' feelings." "This time, we must entrust the center to an institution with sound ethics and values." They stated, "The Sexual Culture Center is advocating for gender equality education, which was banned by the National Education Commission in 2022, arguing that discrimination against sexual minorities around them should not be tolerated, even though most parents do not want their children to be homosexual or transgender. This is deeply concerning to parents." Father God, we place our country's next generation in Your hands. Please guide our children to maintain holiness and purity, and to establish sound values and ethics based on God's Word. Currently, distorted education that undermines proper sexual ethics is being imparted to our youth in our society. Ideologies and education that undermine the created order and family established by God are being implanted in the hearts and minds of our youth under the guise of "comprehensive sex education." Hear the earnest cries of parents in this land, and ensure that all educational institutions, including the Seoul Youth Sexual Culture Center, teach sound morality and biblical values. Stop the uncritical spread of radical ideas that contradict the Bible and national sentiment, such as gender equality, LGBTQ+ advocacy, and sexuality education. Grant boldness in truth to those leading the way in establishing institutions that teach our children the purpose and beauty of sex, responsibility, and moderation given by God the Creator, and grant grace that this will be fulfilled. We pray that the Seoul Metropolitan Government will not be swayed by distorted public opinion or biased reporting during this process to select an agency entrusted with the operation. We ask that you grant wisdom and courage to choose an agency that upholds holiness and purity and reflects public sentiment and parents' wishes. "How can a young man keep his way pure? By keeping your word." (Psalm 119:9) Please help us deeply understand that sex education during adolescence profoundly influences their lives and values. May the Holy Spirit work so that the Korean church will not be ashamed of the Gospel and fully fulfill its mission to nurture the next generation with the Word so they can uphold and build up their conduct.
